| Perhaps the easiest way to do your WebQuest website is to create
the pieces of it directly in a Web editor (such as FrontPage or
Dreamweaver). To do this you need to already know how to use these
tools. If you don't, then perhaps you should wait until you have the
WebQuest materials done, and I will help you through the process of
creating the site. Note: If you already know how to use Microsoft
Word, then you know a lot of FrontPage, too. It is very important to
start the site correctly in FrontPage, however, so you might want to
contact me about this.
One good way to get a WebQuest up and running quickly is to use
one of the
WebQuest templates that exist. To use these, you have to
- Download the template (there are different versions for
Mac and Windows)
- Uncompress (decompress?) the template. For example, in
Windows you need a program like Winzip or Zip Central to do
this. Make sure that all the pages go into the same folder
so that you can find them.
- Import the pages into your favorite Web editor such as
FrontPage or Dreamweaver. Make sure that you do this
correctly, according to the instructions for your editor.
For example, in FrontPage you should first create an "Empty
Web" and then important the template pages and other files
into it.
- Fill in the pages with your WebQuest information. The
navigation, etc should already work.
