| The Process tells the students how to complete the task that
they have been given, usually as a series of steps. Older, more
mature students might need fewer explicit steps while the younger
ones will probably need to be led through the entire task. Be as specific as you need to be
for your task and your learners. If you are using many links, provide a clear description of
them and make it clear what the students need to click on to find
what they need. It is easy to get lost on the
Web, and that experience should not be part of the process. This is
especially important for younger the students. Some sites are very
confusing to navigate and the process is easily lost in a minefield
of information.
List the resources (usually links to websites) here. You can direct the students to a number
of information resources or be very specific about where to find the
information for each step. This will depend on the task and the
learners again. Not all information has to be from Websites, but
most probably will be. Use annotations to let them know what they
will find where.
Specify what produce they have to come up with at the end. They
may make a PowerPoint presentation summarizing what they found or
write a play. The possibilities are endless.
A good way to see if your process is any good is to use this
Process Checklist. You can also take a look at these
Process Guides. If your WQ matches the task in one of these,
then you can get some ideas for process from it.
