The Introduction is where you introduce the scene for your students and pose the problem that has to be solved. You provide the general background information and put the scenario in perspective. Provide details of time and place. Try to make the situation come alive and be real for the students. What's going on here? Why is it important? Why should the students care? Base your Introduction on your topic, goal, and scenario. The scenario, if it is any good may be transferred into the Introduction more or less intact.

For example:

The balance we are striving for here is to try to make it sound more interesting than just an objective (for example, Penguins,) but to avoid rambling and vague generalizations. Be specific!
