Perhaps you want to add a few bells and whistles. You could put
in a better looking background, add some pictures, that sort of
thing.Background
You can easily put a snazzy background on your pages. Two
important things about that, though: 1. make sure that the
background is so obtrusive that it interferes with reading your
pages and 2. use the same background throughout your WQ site.
That helps people know where they are. Here's how you can put a
background on a specific page:
- Go to the File menu and choose Properties.
- Click the Formatting tab.
- Check the Background picture checkbox.
- Click the Browse button.
- Find the picture you want on your computer and click OK.
- It will be inserted into the background.
- When you save the page, you will be asked if you want to
import the picture into your web. Say yes!
Graphics
Putting pictures on your pages works almost exactly the same way,
In addition, they can have a real educational advantage if you find
good pictures that enhance the information you are trying to convey.
Here's how:
- Make sure that you have the picture you want available
on your hard drive (and that you know where to find it!). If
it is on the Web, right-click on it and save it to your disk
first.
- Open the page where the picture will appear.
- Put your insertion point at the spot where you want it
to appear.
- Go to the Insert menu and choose Picture... From File.
- Use the buttons at the left (such as My Documents or My
Computer) to find the picture on your hard drive.
- Select it and click OK. It will be inserted on your
page.
- When you save the page, you will be asked if you want to
import the picture into your web. Say yes!
