Here's how you can use one of the templates from the SDSU
WebQuest site:
- Download the template.
- Go to the WebQuest template page:
http://webquest.sdsu.edu/LessonTemplate.html
- Click on the link for the template that you want (if you
are using FrontPage, then you want the Windows, or Zip
version).
- When it asks, tell it to download or save the file.
- Make sure that you save it on your computer (hard drive,
flash drive, etc.) where you can find it again.
- Decompress the template.
- Find the downloaded file from above on your computer.
- Double click on it.
- Chances are that your computer will already have a way
to "unzip" it. If not, let me know.
- Tell it to extract all the files and put them into a
folder where you can find them.
- Import the template into FrontPage.
- Open FrontPage.
- Open the empty website that you have already created.
(What? You haven't done that yet?
Look here.)
- Use the File menu and choose the Import... option.
- Click the Add File... button.
- Navigate to the folder where you saved the decompressed
template pages.
- Open it.
- Select all the files there.
- Click Open.
- Click OK.
- The pages from the template will be put into your
website.
- Start adding your content. If you have already written some
of it in Word, you can copy and paste it into the Web pages in
FrontPage.
- When you paste in FrontPage, I recommend using the Edit
menu... Paste Special, choosing the Normal paragraphs
with line breaks option.
- To edit any given page, double click on it in the list
at the left.
- Use FrontPage the same way you would use Word to put in
your content.
