| This section shows you how to create a WebQuest website. There
are a number of parts to a standard website. Although it is possible
to vary these, we will go through the entire process. (Graduate
students will do a Teacher's Page, while undergrads will not.) A
WebQuest is generally put onto a website (no surprise there!).
Although the process shown here shows you doing that at the end of
your WebQuest development, it can be easier to make the pages as you
do each assignment. If you already know a little about making
websites, then that is a good way to proceed. If you do NOT already
know how to make websites, then I suggest that you do the WebQuest
assignments as quickly as you can so that you leave time at the end
to work with me to put them into a site. You will be able to
copy-and-paste your WebQuest materials into your Web pages without
much difficulty.
- Information for those who know something about making
Web pages and websites.
- Information for those who are new to making Web pages
and websites.
The main steps in creating your WebQuest are:
- Deciding on a
topic, and developing goals for it.
- Creating a scenario
for the WebQuest.
- Writing an inviting title.
- Writing the
Introduction.
- Creating the Tasks that
students will complete.
- Developing the Process
that students will follow.
- Creating Evaluation
materials for the WebQuest.
- Writing a Conclusion.
- Giving Credit
(citations, etc.) for the materials that you used.
- Creating a Teacher's
Page to help other teachers use your WebQuest.
and, finally,
- Creating the website that holds the WebQuest.
