So There was No Orientation Class...

Well, anyway, here is some of what we would have done:

  1. Reviewed this Web site and what is on it.
  2. Reviewed the requirements for a grade in this course. See the course syllabus for more information.
    1. An Instructional Design project that will take all semester and that is worth 150 points.
    2. Weekly contributions to the discussion board worth a maximum of 50 points. Examine the criteria for these discussions.
    3. A final exam/project to be specified in detail later worth 30 points.
  3. Reviewed the software needed to take this course:
    1. Web browser to access this Web site as well as the discussion board.
    2. email (Be sure you learn how to attach files. Each program is a little different, so check the documents or help system for yours.)
    3. AOL Instant Messenger
    4. The Palace
    5. Word Processor
    6. Diagramming program
  4. Looked at the course schedule. We will be meeting online about every week.
  5. Discussed the nature of the project and reviewed the guidelines for selecting one. You should see the list and discussion in Moodle.
  6. Described how the audio feedback will work.
  7. Visited Moodle to see what is going to be done there.
  8. Demonstrated The Palace.

My goal for the first class is to orient you to taking this course. However, everything that I covered there is also covered on this website, so make sure that you review all course requirements, etc. here.
