Orient the Smart Board
LEARN
| 1
Why Orient Smart Board?
Orienting the Smart board matches up the cursor
with the projected computer image so you can select objects or write on the
board easily. Ideally, the projector should be perpendicular to the
middle of the screen. If this is not possible, then get as close as
you can.
You must orient the Smart board
upon initial installation, or if your whiteboard or projector has been moved or
jostled.

How to Orient Smart Board |
- Lock wheels in place on Smart Board.
|
  |
- The Smart Board tools should automatically startup with your computer
once the software is loaded. Check the lower right-hand corner of
the screen for the Smart Board Tools Icon.
|
 |
- If the icon is not present in the system tray, double click the Smart
Board Tools Desktop Icon.
|
 |
- Click the Smart Board Icon in the System Tray and select the Orient
option from the menu that appears.
- Make your choice for Orientation and click on Next
- There are 3 choices for orientation -- Quick (9 points) Standard (20
points) and Fine (80 points). The higher the points, the more
accurate tracking will be.
|
 |
- On the surface of the Smart Board, use one of the tray pens to press
each of the red crosses.
Tip:
It is important to follow the path of the Press Here white arrow.
- Once all the red crosses are accurately pressed, use your finger (or
tray pen) to close the Smart Board Tools Menu.
Caution:
Once the Smart Board is oriented, be careful
not to jostle or move it. This will cause the orientation to be lost
and you will need to perform the orientation procedure again.
|
 |
Tips:
- To reorient with minimal interruption,
simultaneously press and hold the two Smart pen Tray Buttons to begin the
orientation process.
