RUNNING POWERPOINT ON THE SMART BOARD

LEARN

The Smart board has been optimized for PowerPoint use.  When you run PowerPoint in Slide Show view on the board, you can either annotate over or write into PowerPoint slides with any of the pen tray tools.  by default, the pens write over top of your PowerPoint presentation.  If you like, you can just move on to the next slide, and the annotations you made over the first slide will disappear.  You also have the option of saving the slide with your annotations, either in PowerPoint itself or in Smart Notebook.

Before You Start:
This module assumes that your computer is running, that the Smart Board is connected and that you have already oriented the Smart board (modules 1 and 2).  The Smart Board becomes touch sensitive as soon as you start your computer.  Any time you touch the Smart Board, your finger acts as a left-click.  Press on the Smart Board surface to open applications, select objects and perform any operation that requires a left click.

  • For tasks that require a double-click, press the Smart board twice in rapid succession.

  • For tasks that require a right-click, press the Right Mouse button on the pen tray.  Your next press
will be recognized as a right-click.

  • You can also press and hold the area of the screen you would like the Smart board to recognize
     as a right-click.
