EvalWEB Instructional DesignStudent AssessmentsPre-test:The prerequisite test is included as part of the pretest. Students will take this pretest online. Through observation, the teacher will determine if students can perform the following tasks, which are needed in order to take the test:
Since it is relatively certain that students can perform all of these tasks in the context in which this instruction will take place (immediately following a unit on world wide web searching), no checklist is needed for these basic skills. The pretest is located at http://www.hudson.edu/hms/comp/evalweb/pretest and is divided into five parts. The first part addresses prerequisite skills in addition to a few of the instruction's objectives. The following four parts each ask the student to assess a web page by reading that page and answering a number of questions about that page. The same questions are asked for each page. At the end of the test, student answers are displayed on a web page are then submitted electronically to the teacher. Post-test:The post-test is located at http://www.hudson.edu/hms/comp/evalweb/postest and is similar to the pre-test. The main difference between the tests is the fact that the first section does not test prerequisite skills, and is therefore substantially shorter than the corresponding section on the pre-test. The test also uses different web pages than the pretest for the four sections. Return to the EvalWEB Instructional Design. The finished project is located at http://www.hudson.edu/hms/comp/evalweb. |
