Instructional Design
Objectives
for Final Examination
Needs
Assessment
Given a set of performance
problems, the learner will discriminate between
those that are likely to be solved by instruction
and those that are not.
When asked, the learner will
define a "need" as the term is used in
instructional technology.
Given examples of instructional
goals, the learner will identify which are
complete and well- formed.
Media
Selection
Given brief descriptions of the
type of learning analyzed and of the learners,
the learner will name at least two appropriate
media for instruction.
Given brief descriptions of the
type of learning analyzed and of the learners and
a list of possible media for instruction, the
learner will eliminate those media that are not
suitable for this instruction.
Revisions
Given a set of evaluation data
resulting from the formative evaluation of an
instructional module, the learner will detemine
whether any problems that are evident in the data
are due to the analysis, design, or development
phases.
Given a hierarchical or
combination task analysis and a set of evaluation
data, the learner will identify which
subordinated objectives, if any, are not being
taught successfully.
Evaluation
Given a brief description of an
evaluation, the learner will identify whether it
was a formative or a summative evaluation.
Given a description of the
outcome of the Expert Judgment Phase of a
summative evaluation, the learner will decide
whether the evaluation should be continued into
the Field-Trial Phase.
Given a brief description of an
educational setting and of two instructional
programs, the learner will design a summative
evaluation of the programs, including the
questions to be asked and the steps to be taken
in answering them.
The
Future of Instructional Technology
Given a description of a new or
emerging instructional technology, the learner
will discuss the implications of that technology
for the instructional development process.
Given a description of a new or
emerging instructional technology, the learner
will discuss the implications of that technology
for the delivery of instruction.
Given a description of a new or
emerging instructional technology, the learner
will discuss the implications of that technology
for the instructional strategies used in
teaching.
Given a description of a new or
emerging instructional technology, the learner
will describe an example of an instructional use
of that technology.
