Draft Analysis Portion for Tentative Grading

In past iterations of this course, some people have noted that it is difficult for you to know where you stand in the course until the very end. How do you know whether you are getting an A, B, or C (or anything else) until the project is graded, the final exam is finished, and the course is over?

This optional assignment is meant to address that problem. You may (but are not required to) hand in the complete analysis phase of your instructional design project for a tentative grade. I will grade it according to the online criteria and give it back as quickly as possible. Then you may accept that grade or revise it before the project is complete.

Some guidelines:

  • To take advantage of this you must hand it in no later than the date shown on the course schedule.
  • The grade you receive is tentative. You cannot receive fewer points than you do here, but you could receive more. If you don't like your grade on the analysis portion, be sure you have some understanding of why you received what you did. Then you may revise the analysis before the entire project is graded for real. If you make no revisions, then the grade will stand.
  • The analysis portion consists of the Needs Assessment, the Goal/Instructional Analysis, the Learner and Context Analysis, and the Performance Objectives, nothing more and nothing less.
