Analysis Assignment

In the Analysis Assignment, I would like you to consider three major issues that affect how you develop your website:

  1. What are the major instructional goals of the site?
You could make a hierarchical chart as shown in the book or fill out a form. In the proposal you gave some overall goals. Here you want to make sure that you state them as things that the learners will be able to do after the instruction. You should be able to assess whether they have achieved these goals. NB: These are not goals for you; they are goals for the students.
  2. Who are the learners who will be using the site? In other words, who is the audience?
The book outlines three areas that seem especially important in deciding how to do your instructional website: technological sophistication, prior knowledge of the subject matter, and learning capabilities. I don't expect you to go out and test your learner population, but it is a good idea to think seriously about these areas.
  3. What is the context for the site?
The book lists three things about context that you should consider: development context (including your capabilities), technological context, and learning context. You need to go a little more deeply into these things than you did in the proposal.
