Welcome to the FrontPage Workshop
FrontPage 2003 is Microsoft's Web editing software for the Windows
operating system. It is highly regarded as a good editor for beginning and
intermediate Web developers. With KSU's licensing agreement or other
educational discounts, it is also a good choice for educators.
Some of you may have FrontPage 2000 or 2002 instead. That will work for much of
this workshop. You might find that you cannot follow the directions in the
book or on this website exactly. The interface for many functions has
changed from one version to another. You should consider upgrading at the
educational discount.
To complete this workshop successfully, you need several things:
 | a copy of FrontPage running on a Windows computer, |
 | a Web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator) and reliable
access to the Internet, |
 | an email account and access to it, |
 | AOL Instant Messenger (for contacting the instructor more quickly),
and |
 | the book FrontPage 2002: A Guide to Web
Design for Educators and Trainers by
Albert Ingram and Ruth Watson. |
More information about all of these is available by clicking on the
various buttons near the top of this page. Please note that this entire
website is built with FrontPage, so it also serves as an example of
many of the things you will be learning. |
Announcement: Watch this space for
announcements as we go along. Right now, you should submit information to
me, introduce yourselves on the discussion board, and begin to read and work
with FrontPage.
