Home WebCT Palace Groove FLC Discussions Active Worlds

WebCT is the course management system currently supported at Kent State University. It provides a relatively secure and easy way for faculty to provide course information and interactions to students. Faculty use of WebCT is growing rapidly, and it includes a variety of tools for collaboration.

Among the collaborative software tools found in WebCT are

  • Chat rooms
  • Threaded discussion board (which can be restricted to small groups of students)
  • Student presentation area for displaying project results
  • File sharing through attachments to internal email or discussion postings

One problem or collaborative learning with the version of WebCT currently in use at KSU is the relative difficulty in setting up all these tools for each group.
