| Active Worlds is a three-dimensional virtual reality (VR)
chat room. It runs only on Windows computers and requires high bandwidth
connections, fast computers, and good graphics cards to work best. It is
customizable but requires significant learning and development time to do
so. No matter where you are in a "world" your conversation will show up the
logs of everyone present, even over long virtual distances. However, it can
give a very good sense of being present in an environment with other people.
